Andrew McLean

Senior Research Assistant - Clean Energy

Andrew is a Senior Research Assistant working to reduce carbon emissions from the United Kingdom’s transport sector. After studying English Literature at the University of Oxford he spent a year tutoring in Paris, where he decided that he wanted to work to protect the environment. He returned to London to study a Master’s in environmental policy at UCL, and for his dissertation focused on the Greater London Authority’s climate policies. He spent several months working for a conservation NGO, helping to coordinate sector-wide policy and campaigns, and in March 2018 began at EDF, working to accelerate the shift to electric vehicles. Andrew is interested in climate policy, urban governance, socio-technical shifts, and good funk/soul nights. He grew up in London and lives there still, and can be found playing five-a-side football or planting trees in the Scottish highlands.
